My name is Jerry and I live on the second largest of the Channel Islands, "Guernsey". The Island is situated about 80 miles from the UK and 20 from France, in the bay of St Malo.
I have always been interested in radio and all things electonic since my days as a member of my school's radio club. All my working life was in the electronics/telecommunications world, but it was only since retirement that I decided to get my amateur licence [still working on the Advanced]. I took my Foundation and Intermediate exams in 2006 and became 2U0BGE.
As I became familiar with the different elements of Ham radio it became obvious that my main interest is in QRP operation, more of which on the SHACK page.
Unfortunately other interests fight for my time even though I am retired. These range from Grand-children, Classic Cars, Modeling [railways not clothes], tropical fish and of course a natural interest in my Wife's hobby which surrounds dogs in general but Newfoundlands in particular.
